Madonna has scheduled a world tour to celebrate her 50th birthday. The milestone birthday will come in August of 2008. Madonna has named the tour “Madonna at 50″ and is currently lining up dates for the magnificent event. This announcement comes just one day after reports indicate that Madonna is going to dump her 25-year deal with Warner Music to sign a $100 million dollar contract with tour promoter Live Nation. The soon to be 50-year-old singer realizes that she can make tons more money touring rather than making albums. Her last tour grossed $260 million and Madonna accomplished that in just a few months. Having a record deal is yesterday’s news. Companies like Live Nation cover everything which gives their clients a bigger piece of the pie.
